Plain English, no surprises. These terms apply to all MFF memberships, including Founding, Early Access, 6-Month, No Contract and 10-Visit Concession. All member facing prices are GST inclusive. Version 1.6, August 2026.
A one off joining fee of $45 applies to all new memberships. This covers account setup, access activation, onboarding, and administration.
The joining fee is waived for Founding Members who purchase a 12 month upfront membership before opening.
The joining fee is non-refundable, except where required by law. For 10-Visit Concession members the joining fee is charged once only, on the first block. All member facing prices in these terms are GST inclusive.
For Founding and Early Access memberships purchased before opening:
This gives every pre-opening member the full value of their 12 month term while keeping membership administration consistent.
Price lock: annual Founding and annual Early Access memberships paid upfront retain their joining rate (Founding $18 per week, $936 per year; Early Access $20 per week, $1,040 per year) for as long as the membership remains continuously active, even after standard prices change. An approved membership hold does not break the price lock. If the membership lapses or is cancelled, rejoining is at the then-current published rate.
The official opening date will be confirmed and communicated by us. If the opening date changes, Founding and Early Access memberships purchased before opening will not begin, and no membership time will be used, until the gym is open and available for member use.
You may cancel your membership within 7 days of joining by giving us written notice (see clause 9 for how to cancel).
For memberships purchased before opening, the 7 day cooling off period starts from the official opening date.
If you cancel within the cooling off period, we will refund all membership fees you have paid, less:
Refunds under this clause will be paid within 7 days of your fob being returned (or, if no fob was issued, within 7 days of your cancellation notice).
A 12 month membership is a fixed term membership. A 6 month fixed term is also available at $26 per week. Once the cooling off period has ended, a fixed term membership continues for its full term unless cancellation rights apply under these terms or by law. The family discount applies to 12 month terms only.
If you have paid upfront, your membership runs for 12 months from your activation date (see clause 2). If your membership activated automatically because you did not attend within 30 days of opening, your 12 month term runs from that automatic activation date.
After the cooling off period, a 12 month membership cannot be cancelled simply because you change your mind.
We will fairly assess cancellation requests made in genuine circumstances, including serious illness, injury, relocation away from the area, or financial hardship. We may ask for reasonable supporting information (for example, a medical certificate or proof of new address).
We will respond to any hardship cancellation request within 10 working days. If a cancellation is approved, any refund of upfront fees will be calculated on a pro-rated basis for the unused portion of your term, and may be adjusted for any promotional discount you received on joining.
If we make a significant change to the gym's services, facilities, or access hours that materially affects your membership, you may end your membership without penalty. Any upfront fees for the unused portion of your term will be refunded on a pro-rated basis.
A 12 month membership may be transferred to another person with our written approval. The new member must complete onboarding, provide the required health and safety information, and complete access setup before using the gym. A transfer fee of $25 applies.
All cancellation notices must be in writing. You can cancel by sending us a written message through the contact form on our website or by messaging our Facebook page. You do not need to visit the gym in person to cancel.
Your notice takes effect from the day we receive it. We will confirm receipt of any cancellation request in writing.
Memberships are personal to the member and cannot be shared. Every member and pass holder must swipe in with their own fob on every entry, even when the door is already open or another person is entering at the same time. You must not hold the door open for, admit, or share your fob, pass or access details with any person who has not swiped in with their own valid membership or pass.
Where a member knowingly permits or facilitates entry by a person who has not swiped in, a security and administration charge applies on a per breach basis: first breach $45, second breach $90. On a third breach, access is suspended. A suspended member must speak with our team at the front desk before access can be reinstated, and reinstatement is at MFF's discretion. MFF may terminate the membership for breach where the matter cannot be resolved, including where a member is abusive to staff or repeatedly breaches this clause.
No refund of membership fees paid to date will be given on a membership suspended or terminated for a security breach under this clause. For members who have paid annually in advance, MFF will refund only the unused portion of the prepaid term, pro-rated to the date of termination, less the security and administration charges, any joining fee and any amounts owing. Any Founding or Early Access price lock is forfeited on termination. These charges reflect the security, insurance and capacity risk created by unauthorised entry.
Refunds will only be provided where required by law, under the cooling off period (clause 4), under the material changes clause (clause 7), or where a cancellation is approved under clause 6.
Where these terms allow a deduction from a refund, the only deductions we will make are: the joining fee (where charged), the $10 access fob fee (where the fob is not returned), and pro-rated adjustments as described in clauses 6 and 7.
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
A No Contract membership is available at $29 per week, with unlimited visits, billed week to week. No Contract memberships have no fixed term and may be cancelled at any time on 14 days' written notice. The Kids Area Pass, family discount and price lock do not apply to the No Contract plan.
Family discount: families receive 10% off the full standard adult membership rate per member, with a minimum of three memberships paid from one account with one primary account holder. The discount applies to the full standard adult membership rate only. It does not apply to the Kids Area Pass, and does not apply to Founding or Early Access memberships, whose pre-sale pricing already exceeds the family discount.
You may cancel a no contract membership at any time by giving us 2 weeks' written notice (see clause 9). Your membership and billing end at the close of the notice period.
The joining fee (clause 1) and cooling off period (clause 4) apply to no contract memberships. Clause 6 does not apply, as no fixed term exists.
10-Visit Concession: a concession pass is 10 entry swipes for $240, paid upfront, valid 12 months from purchase. Each entry swipe deducts one visit; during staffed hours staff can reset an accidental re-entry, and outside staffed hours a re-entry will be corrected on your account the next staffed day. The first block includes the $45 joining fee, your access fob and 24/7 access; further blocks are $240 with no joining fee, and no joining fee applies if you later move to a weekly or term membership. Concession passes do not renew automatically. Unused visits expire at 12 months and are not refundable; a pass is refundable (less the joining fee) only within the cooling off period and before the first visit, and is non-refundable after that. The Kids Area Pass, price lock and family discount do not apply to concession passes.
